VASER Lipo (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) is a type of ultrasonic liposuction that uses a minimally invasive technique called LipoSelection® to selectively break apart fatty tissue without damaging the surrounding tissue, nerves and blood vessels. Before the Procedure

The Procedure
VASER Lipo is performed at Dr. Evdokimow's New Jersey cosmetic surgery practice under local anesthesia. If VASER Lipo is being combined with other procedures, general anesthesia and a hospital stay may be required.
Dr. Evdokimow begins the VASER Lipo procedure by injecting the targeted area with a special saline solution called tumescent fluid. The solution numbs the treatment area and shrinks blood vessels to minimize blood loss. Tumescent fluid also makes it easier for fat cells to be suctioned out of the body. Next, Dr. Evdokimow inserts small probes into the treatment area through small incisions in the skin. By emitting ultrasonic energy (high-frequency sound waves), the probes loosen and break up fat cells while preserving the integrity of the surrounding tissue. The loose fat cells escape into the tumescent fluid, which is then gently suctioned out of the body with a small cannula (tube). The incisions are disinfected and bandaged. Depending on the location and size of the treatment area, compression garments may be applied to promote skin retraction.
After the Procedure
One of the many benefits of VASER Lipo over traditional liposuction is that patients experience a quicker, smoother recovery with a lower chance of postoperative complications. Typically, VASER Lipo patients are fully recovered within days of the procedure. Minor bruising and swelling are common but generally subside quickly.
